Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 04/29/2026

Stories Restored is committed to making our service usable by the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities. We design and develop with accessibility in mind and work continuously to improve.

1. Our Target

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines are an internationally recognized standard for accessible digital content.

2. Features Implemented

  • Semantic HTML — headings, landmarks, and lists structure content for assistive technology.
  • ARIA labels on interactive controls that lack visible text, such as icon buttons.
  • Keyboard navigation — all interactive elements are reachable and operable with a keyboard, and focus states are clearly visible.
  • Large tap targets sized for touch and motor accessibility.
  • Sufficient color contrast between text and background.
  • Responsive layout that scales with zoom and adapts across device sizes.
  • Alt text on meaningful images.

3. Known Limitations

We are aware of areas that may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA:

  • Mobile navigation focus trap — the mobile menu does not yet trap focus or close on Escape; keyboard users can tab out of the open menu.
  • Post-upload focus management — when the bulk upload form transitions to the quote summary view, focus is not automatically moved to the new heading; keyboard users must tab forward manually.
  • Color contrast at reduced opacity — some secondary text uses reduced opacity which may fall below the 4.5:1 contrast ratio at certain color-scheme combinations. A full contrast audit is in progress.
  • Some third-party embeds (e.g., payment checkout) are outside our direct control; we partner with vendors that prioritize accessibility.

We are actively working to address these items.

4. Feedback and Contact

If you run into an accessibility barrier, or have a suggestion for how we can do better, please tell us. Email hello@storiesrestored.com with details about the page or feature and the assistive technology you're using. We aim to respond within 1 business day.
